Escapelle, Postinor, and Postinor ODT are brands of emergency contraception. The active ingredient in all three is levonorgestrel to prevent pregnancy after unprotected sex by delaying the release of an egg (inhibiting ovulation). Escapelle and Postinor are regular tablets you swallow with water, while Postinor ODT dissolves in the mouth without water. Escapelle has one pill, while Postinor-2 has two. When taken within 72 hours of unprotected sex, all are similarly effective.
