It is great that you are thinking ahead and taking control of your sexual health. No birth control method is 100% reliable, so to reduce the risk of unplanned pregnancy it is important to be prepared for any potential contraceptive accidents. Keep Escapelle/Postinor on hand as a backup emergency contraceptive, just in case you have unprotected sex or experience contraceptive failure. You can obtain the emergency contraceptive pill in advance if you’re concerned about your contraceptive method failing, if you are going on holiday, or if you can’t easily access emergency contraception. Please note that Escapelle has an expiration date of 5 years and Postinor ODT of 3 years. Consult a healthcare provider for further advice on obtaining emergency contraception in advance. You can also discuss your options for regular methods of contraception with them.
