Escapelle/Postinor stops pregnancy before it starts. It primarily works by preventing or delaying the release of an egg from the ovary (ovulation prevention), making fertilization less likely. It can also slow sperm and change the womb’s lining to prevent implantation. This is not an abortion pill. Escapelle/Postinor is not intended to terminate an existing pregnancy, and it won’t harm one if it already exists.
