Escapelle/Postinor is an emergency contraceptive pill, also known as the ‘morning after pill’. It contains levonorgestrel, a hormone similar to progesterone, which is naturally produced in the body. Levonorgestrel works by altering the cervical mucus consistency, inhibiting ovulation (the release of an egg), and affecting the lining of the uterus to prevent pregnancy.
